How to Plan for the EU GDPR

How to Plan for the EU GDPR provides background on the regulation and articulates key areas of concern and recommendations on how to prepare. While the regulation doesn’t go into effect until May 25, 2018, it’s time to prepare. In fact, Gartner analyst Bart Willemsen predicts that by the end of 2018, over 50% of companies affected by the GDPR will not be in full compliance with its requirements.

For any organization that possesses data of natural persons form the EU/EEA, the GDPR is a disruptive regulation with many ambiguities and as yet to be determined requirements. It is a near perfect storm with both a very broad scope of applicability, data transfer implication and the potential for high fines for non-compliance.
